AnalogueWorks is a small team of music lovers based in Northamptonshire, England. They create usable, musical and beautiful turntables using low torque motors, sound engineering practices, common sense, careful listening and a marriage of materials. All of the AnalogueWorks turntables are lovingly hand made and tested in England, thus ensuring you years of trouble free musical enjoyment.
AnalogueWorks Overview
English Heart and Soul
At the heart of all AnalogueWorks turntables is the over engineered single point bearing. This simple design ensures the smooth and silent running of the platter so that all you hear is the music. The high mass belt-driven platters maintain speed stability, while the solid birch ply plinths provide freedom from vibration and acoustic feedback. All materials and shapes have been chosen to balance or prevent resonance, creating a turntable with an ability to provide a faithful reproduction of your vinyl collection. Most high performance tonearms can be accommodated including Jelco, Rega, Origin Live, SME, Design Build Listen, Audio Origami, and Nottingham Analogue.
The Plinth
The most important raw material for birch plywood is a renewable natural resource: wood. Trees grow slowly in Finland’s climate and thus the wood it produces is close-grained and of consistently high quality. Birch plywood has excellent mechanical, biological, and acoustical properties making it an ideal choice for their plinths. The boards are made in England to AnalogueWorks’ exact size and specification. All stages of the manufacture of the plywood are controlled for veneer thickness, glue spread, dimensional accuracy, overall thickness, bonding strength, and appearance. The manufacturer is also certified to ISO 9000 and 14001 standards.
The Feet
Designed to provide the AnalogueWorks turntables with additional isolation from vibration, the feet use weight dependent dampening material to minimize interference for improved audio performance. The feet can also be used to upgrade pre-2015 AnalogueWorks models.
The Bearing
At the heart of any turntable is its main platter bearing. The AnalogueWorks bearing assembly is vastly over engineered and is manufactured to the highest precision. As a result the motor can rotate the platter assembly smoothly and silently without any unwanted bearing noise being presented to the cartridge. The manufacturer is certified to ISO 9001 standards.
The Platter
All AnalogueWorks turntables feature a massive, precision manufactured aluminum platter. Each platter features a groove for a thick rubber ring with which the human hand may assist the low torque motor upon startup. This rubber ring also provides a subtle yet effective additional amount of resonance control upon the aluminum. A custom made easy to use anti-resonance foam mat for optimal LP interface with the platter is included with each AnalogueWorks turntable. The manufacturer is certified to ISO 9001 standards.
The Motor
The low torque, low resonance motor featured on all AnalogueWorks turntables is housed within a massive free-standing aluminum tower that features further internal and external resonance dampening. Rather than wasting precious shelf space by being cited outboard of the plinth, the motor pod is couched within a precision-machined opening in the plinth, thus marrying it visually to the turntable without having it touch the actual turntable. The inherent constrained layer dampening and strength of the bonded layers of birch ply in AnalogueWorks turntable plinths allow for this elegant and effective touch. Each motor features easily accessible 33 and 45 rpm pulleys, which along with the thick, high grade polymer belt allow for trouble-free changes in speed selection.
The Power Supply
The Translator external linear power supply, an exclusive for North American AnalogueWorks turntables, filters extraneous mains noise, allowing the motor to do its job quietly and accurately. All AnalogueWorks turntables are also easily upgradeable to AnalogueWorks’ finest power supply the WM One (Wave Mechanic) Power Supply should one wish to take their AnalogueWorks ‘table to another level.
Turntable Zero
One might say that the most affordable turntable from AnalogueWorks, Turntable Zero (or “TT Zero”), is the essence of what AnalogueWorks is all about: constrained layer dampened, ultra strong birch py plinth; custom weight dependant anti-resonance feet; precision, over-engineered platter bearing; massive precision-manufactured aluminum platter with special anti-resonance mat; low torque, low resonance motor in massive free-standing pod; high-grade linear power supply (with abilty to upgrade to WM One); the ability to choose your favorite tonearm should you wish (shown here with the exellent Jelco SA-250, and an oak-veneered top and bottom plinth); and an English-made heritage. Aside from the thickness of the plinth, size of the platter, and an even more obsessively-precise platter bearing, the TT Zero brings at a cost-effective price what AnalogueWorks brings you with their TT One, TT One-Twelve, and TT Two turntables.

Turntable One
Turntable One (or “TT One”) is Analogueworks’ first turntable. As the genesis of the line it features much of what AnalogueWorks’ turntable design philosphy is based upon: constrained layer dampened, ultra strong birch ply plinth; custom weight dependant anti-resonance feet; precision, over-engineered platter bearing; massive precision-manufactured aluminum platter with special anti-resonance mat; low torque, low resonance motor in massive free-standing pod; high-grade linear power supply (with abilty to upgrade to WM One); the ability to choose your favorite tonearm should you wish (shown here with the exellent Nottinham Analogue Interspace, and an custom acetal-veneered top and bottom plinth); and an English-made heritage. The TT One features an over engineered leaded bronze platter bearing that is even more quiet than what it originally featured when first developed. This ultra-precise bearing coupled with an even more massive platter and plinth are what take the TT One to another level beyond its younger brother the TT Zero. These structureal upgrades are also found on the TT One-Twelve and variations of them on the TT Two.

Turntable One-Twelve
Turntable One-Twelve (or “TT One-Twelve”) is based upon AnalogueWorks’ first turntable the TT One and features an extended plinth that allows for tonearms from 9 to 12 inches long. Many audiophiles prefer the sound of longer tonearms, which are often lauded for their lower tracking error. As the genesis of the AnalogueWorks line the TT-One/One-Twelve feature much of what the AnalogueWorks turntable design philosphy is based upon: constrained layer dampened, ultra strong birch ply plinth; custom weight dependant anti-resonance feet; precision, over-engineered platter bearing; massive precision-manufactured aluminum platter with special anti-resonance mat; low torque, low resonance motor in massive free-standing pod; high-grade linear power supply (with abilty to upgrade to WM One); the ability to choose your favorite tonearm should you wish (shown here with the exellent SME M2-12, and an oak-veneered top and bottom plinth); and an English-made heritage. Like the TT One, the TT One-Twelve features the an over engineered leaded bronze platter bearing, a massive platter, and anti-resonance feet. A variation of these upgrades are also featured on the TT Two and sonically differentiate the bigger turntables from their most affordable model the TT Zero.

Turntable Two
Turntable Two (or “TT Two”) is Analogueworks’ finest turntable. The TT Two is a rather substantial turntable yet takes up the same amount of rack space as the TT Zero and TT One. As with its brethren the TT Two features much of what AnalogueWorks’ turntable design philosphy is based upon: constrained layer dampened, ultra strong birch ply plinth; custom weight dependant anti-resonance feet; precision, over-engineered platter bearing; massive precision-manufactured aluminum platter with special anti-resonance mat; low torque, low resonance motor in massive free-standing pod; high-grade linear power supply, in the case of the TT-2 their reference WM Two; the ability to choose your favorite tonearm should you wish (shown here with the exellent Design Build Listen The Wand, and a walnut-veneered top and bottom plinth); and an English-made heritage. The TT Two features an over engineered leaded bronze platter bearing mated to a massive platter and plinth. These structureal upgrades are also found on the TT One and TT One-Twelve, though on the TT Two they are taken to an even more extreme level in terms of mass and/or thickness. With the addition of their finest power supply the Wave Mechanic Two, which generates a clean and stable AC signal, the Turntable Two could be considered AnalogueWorks’ “reference” turntable. At HFS we’d say it can be considered amongst the finest turntables at any price, though as with all AnalogueWorks products it is remarkably affordable.
