High Fidelity Services and Command Performance A/V teamed up this year to celebrate Jeff Fox’s new retail storefront in Falls Church, VA and to prove that amazing sound could be had using small packages and an extremely modest budget. With a packed room from show start to show close, Neat Iotas, a MJ Acoustics Pro 50 MK3 subwoofer, Audia Flight Three electronics and Wireworld’s entry tier cabling produced what many thought to be “top three best sound of show” performance. We were hard pressed to disagree and considering that one could have purchased thirty or more of our complete systems for the cost of the show’s most expensive system, we could not have been more pleased.
Perhaps the greatest entertainment for us throughout the show was the seemingly endless requests for us to turn our subwoofer off (when it was already off). If we had a nickel for every time we heard, “That’s just the Neat Iotas?”. Of course for “giant killer performance”, the MJ Acoustic Pro 50 subwoofer, using it’s high level speaker line input option raised seamless musicality to an amazing reference level. As if the room’s primary system was inexpensive enough given it’s exemplary performance, Command Performance showed that at roughly a third of the primary system’s cost, that an alternate system could be offered to the “real world” using Teac and Musical Fidelity components with just the Iotas on IsoAcoustics desk top isolation stands.
